The conference was attended by around 350 company delegates representing a total of 140 companies - both direct and indirect suppliers to Toyota.
As part of the supplier conference TMCA also took the opportunity to recognise its supplier base by awarding President and Achievement Awards for outstanding performance during 2005. AAPL was nominated for a total of four (4) awards:

It was a great pleasure for AAPL's Managing Director Mr. Ito to accept on behalf of AAPL the prestigious award of President's Award - OE Supply.
The 2005 award represents back to back Presidents Awards for AAPL with Managing Director Mr. Ito setting the challenge for AAPL to continuously improve its performance even further to make it three (3) in a row for the 2006 awards.
To win Toyota's President Award a supplier must achieve outstanding performance in all areas of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and exceed the global benchmark targets set by Toyota. Over the past three (3) years AAPL has refined its structure and continually reviewed its business practises in all areas to ensure that customer requirements such as Toyota's are not only met but exceeded.
This approach is undertaken by all employees across AAPL and its sister company Yazaki EDS Samoa under the philosophy of NYS (New Yazaki System) which is primarily focused on continuous improvement and elimination of waste across all direct and indirect functions within the organisation and its supply chain.
It was very rewarding for AAPL employees that their efforts were recognised by Toyota Australia in the awarding of the 2005 President's Award.
