Volvo 3P Purchasing has presented its eight Premium Suppliers with the prestigious Volvo 3P Supplier Award.

This is the first time such an award has been made by Volvo 3P. The award recognizes outstanding achievements of Suppliers supporting Volvo Group's truck businesses.

A Board of Purchasing executives, Global Purchasing Managers and Host Buyers from all Volvo's Business Areas and Units evaluated more than 1500 suppliers on different criteria including quality, delivery precision, environment and commitment to Volvo requirements.

Special focus was placed on suppliers that have shown a proactive way of working with Volvo 3P, contributing to the business unit's objectives and exceeding stated targets.

"We want to recognize high performing partners. By working effectively with premium suppliers we will be able to support better our premium brands, Mack Trucks, Renault Trucks, and Volvo Trucks" comments Bruno Blin, Senior Vice President, Purchasing for Volvo 3P.

AAPL through Yazaki Europe first started supplying Volvo Truck Corporation in the year 2001 and AAPL was the development and manufacturing site for the ECS and SWM modules. Since that time, in addtion to Yazaki securing wiring business, AAPL has expanded the range of products supplied to Volvo by winning the VECU module business and we have enjoyed additional expansion as our modules are now fitted to Renault and Mack Trucks. We have met or exceeded Volvo's quality, cost and delivery targets as well as participating in the forward development of the next generation of Volvo truck electronics, all of which has contributed to the presentation of this prestigious award to Yazaki.

On Monday June 19, the Volvo 3P Supplier Award Ceremony was held at Volvo's exhibition hall in Gothenburg. Torbjorn Holmstrom, President of Volvo 3P and Bruno Blin, Volvo 3P Purchasing Senior Vice-President hosted the ceremony.

As well as members of the Volvo 3P Executive Team Senior executives from the eight companies who received the Volvo 3P Supplier Award 2005 attended the ceremony.
